Cabane á sucre

Wow, sorry it has been so long since I’ve last updated my blog. We have been so busy finishing up Bible School, we only have two weeks left of Bible School! Time has really flown bye. For this blog post I would like to focus on two things that I have found really cool. The first thing was in February during the week that we studied about different world religions. During this week not only did we learn about them in class but we were also able to take some trips into Montreal and visit different temples. It was quite the experience to go to these temples and learn about different religions, some of which I had never heard about before such a sikhism. In the picture above that is the Sikh temple that we were able to go to. Something that I found pretty cool about their religion is how hospitable they are. If someone does not have a place to sleep they can just show up and sleep there. Also, they always are having meals which are free to the public, we were able to partake in one of these meals. It was such a different experience as we sat on the floor on a carpet and ate our food from our tray and they would come and serve us. However, though it was a rich experience in learning about different religions it also just reminds you of how many lost people there are. Every religion seemed to be so close to the truth and is looking for a purpose of life but all their efforts will be in vain as there really is only one truth. That truth is the Gospel and I continue to pray for those who are lost that they would be able to find the real truth. However, it also makes me thankful because in every religion we studied the followers of that religion had to basically try to save themselves but in the end it’s impossible. However, as Christians we do not have to try to save ourselves because God has already made the way for us all we have to do is trust in Him.Something else that was fun to experience in the month of March was the Cabane á sucre, this is a sugar shack where maple syrup and other maple products are made. When it is the season for sap to come from the trees they start making the maple syrup and they open the Cabane á sucre

for people to come and eat. At the Cabane á sucre you get a lot to eat including: ham, potatoes, beans, soup, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc and you pour maple syrup all over it. There we had maple syrup everything and it was really good, and then you get to dance afterwards. We all had lots of fun!

Prayer request:

Quebec in general and for there to be a spiritual movement here
